Sorry, Singapore Airlines, there's a new top airline in town.
Skytrax released its list of the world's best airlines for 2024 this week and for the first time Qatar Airways takes the top spot.

Badr Mohammed Al-Meer said in a statement. “This award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to delivering unparalleled service and innovation. We look forward to receiving more accolades in the future.”

Qatar Airlines carried an estimated 31.7 million passengers in 2023 and generated revenue and net profit of US$1.026 billion in the first half of its 2023/2024 financial year, an increase of 113.8% over the same period last year.
Last year’s winner Singapore Airlines fell to second place, followed by Emirates Air in third place.
Over 350 airlines from around the world were included. The results were determined by travelers who completed satisfaction surveys between September 2023 and May 2024. The airlines were rated on categories such as leisure, cabin crew, business class experience and more.
“The World Airline Awards are independent and impartial. They were launched in 1999 to provide a truly global survey of customer satisfaction,” Skytrax said in a press release. “Travellers from around the world vote in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to determine the award winners.”
