One point for the fans. According to Deadline, Warner Bros. Television has optioned three Ted Lasso actors – Hannah Waddingham (Rebecca Walton), Brett Goldstein (Roy Kent) and Jeremy Swift (Leslie Higgins) – meaning the fourth season of the popular football comedy is on track for Apple TV+.
According to reports from Deadline, the next step is to finalize new deals for co-creators/executive producers Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), as well as Juno Temple (Keeley Jones). Unfortunately for Jamie Tartt fans, reports say that actor Phil Dunster is currently starring in two series, Prime Video's The Devil's Hour and Apple's Surface, making a full-time return unlikely.

When the third season ended in May 2023 to mixed reviews, Apple and Warner Bros. executives publicly stated that they would like to continue the series but left that decision up to Sudeikis. Sudeikis clearly gave his blessing to get the ball rolling, but it remains to be seen whether Ted will be the focus of the new season or make a cameo. On Hollywood industry podcast The Town, host Matthew Belloni said he believes the latter. “My guess is they'll take that and apply it to a women's team,” he posited. “And there'll be a new coach, and Sudekis will step in for a few episodes and help them out or show up in a surprising way.”
That's great news for fans — and great news for Apple. “It's their number one show by far,” Belloni says, noting that Ted Lasso is still in their top ten shows despite ending over a year ago.
