So I’ve been geeking out lately on AI tools (surprise, surprise), and two names keep coming up that I hadn’t given enough attention to until recently: Perplexity AI and Deepai. You’ve probably seen them floating around in newsletters, on Reddit, or maybe in your LinkedIn scroll session.

They’re both powerful in their own ways… but which one is actually worth your time?

If you’re anything like me—juggling a million things and looking for tools that actually help—you want to know which AI tool to use, when, and why. So let’s break it down in plain English. Here’s a quickfire on which new AI should you use in 2025, Perplexity against DeepAI.

Note: While these are general suggestions, it’s important to conduct thorough research and due diligence when selecting AI tools. We do not endorse or promote any specific AI tools mentioned here.

What is Perplexity AI?

If ChatGPT had a cousin who was said to be super organized and obsessed with accuracy, it would be Perplexity.

This tool is like having a no-nonsense research assistant who not only gives you answers but also tells you where those answers came from. Think of it as a blend of Google and Wikipedia, but without the clutter or rabbit holes.

Top Use Cases:

  • Summarizing complex topics like medicine, investing, or science
  • Grabbing real-time, up-to-date info
  • Research projects, academic writing, or just winning arguments with citations

Best Features:

  • Source citations with clickable links
  • Internet-connected for current events and news
  • Sleek, distraction-free interface

If you’re into facts, clarity, and saving time, Perplexity is awesome. Especially if you’re a doctor, student, or entrepreneur trying to make faster, smarter decisions.

What is DeepAI?

DeepAI isn’t a typical chatbot or research tool. It’s more of a Swiss Army knife for developers and creators.

Where Perplexity focuses on answering questions and surfacing info, DeepAI is all about giving you access to AI-powered tools. You can generate images, run models, and even tap into APIs to build your own tools.

Top Use Cases:

  • Creating images from text prompts
  • Testing AI features like facial recognition or image enhancement
  • Building apps or sites with AI integrations

Best Features:

  • Lots of open-source AI tools in one spot
  • API access for more advanced use
  • Fun stuff like text-to-image generation and more

So yeah—this one’s not for someone looking to write a love letter or get life advice. But if you’re building tech or just enjoy exploring what’s possible with AI, DeepAI can be pretty powerful.

Head-to-Head: Perplexity vs DeepAI

Let’s compare them like restaurants. Perplexity is your go-to deli that serves up healthy, fast meals with everything labeled. DeepAI is the full kitchen—great if you know what you’re doing and want to create your own dishes from scratch.

Feature Perplexity AI Deepai
Ease of Use Beginner-friendly More technical (But with easy-to-use AI generators)
Real-Time Info Yes No
Best For Research, Q&A, summaries creators, developers, coders
Creative Tools Limited Strong image and data tools
Cost Free + optional Pro Mostly free, pay for advanced API use

Which One Should You Use?

Here’s where it gets personal. I always say: use the right tool for the right job. You wouldn’t use a steak knife to butter toast.

So ask yourself:

  • Need research summaries or insights fast? → Go with Perplexity.
  • Looking to build or integrate AI into your projects? → DeepAI is the way to go.
  • Want current, fact-based info with clickable sources? → Perplexity wins.
  • Doing anything creative, technical, or image-related? → DeepAI might surprise you.

For healthcare professionals, business owners, or content creators, Perplexity is probably the more practical pick. But if you like AI generators or someone who’s experimenting with AI tools beyond basic chat, DeepAI gives you flexibility that Perplexity doesn’t.

My Personal Take

To keep it real, I still use ChatGPT more than anything else. It’s just part of my daily flow. Whether I’m brainstorming ideas, outlining newsletters like this one, organizing my thoughts, or working through business concepts, it’s the tool I reach for first. The conversational style, the creativity, the way it adapts to whatever I’m thinking about… it’s like having a smart assistant who’s always down to riff with me.

But every so often, I need to switch gears. Like when I’m looking up something that’s actually happening right now. Market news, recent trends, or a topic where accuracy and citations matter. That’s where Perplexity comes in. I don’t use it all the time, but when I do, it’s usually because I need verified, up-to-date info with sources I can click. Think of it as my research filter. It helps me avoid the classic “Google rabbit hole” while still getting trustworthy insights fast.

And then there’s Deepai. This one’s a little different, but I’ve actually had a lot of fun with it. I use it when I want to play around with AI image generators. Things like turning text into visuals, tweaking existing images, or just exploring creative tools I wouldn’t find anywhere else. It’s not part of my everyday workflow, but when I want to switch things up or need a cool visual idea for content, DeepAI is kind of like my creative playground.

So here’s the breakdown for me:

  • ChatGPT is my daily engine for thinking, writing, and planning.
  • Perplexity steps in when accuracy, sources, and real-time info matter.
  • Deepai is what I use when I want to get visual, test something creative, or experiment for fun.

You don’t have to pick a “winner” here. They’re all useful in their own way. Use them like tools in a toolbox. The real power comes from knowing when to grab which one.

Final Thoughts

The AI world is changing fast, and it’s easy to feel like you’re always a step behind. But the truth is, you don’t need to master every tool out there. Just find the ones that make your life better.

If you’re already using something like ChatGPT, adding Perplexity might be the next best step. It gives you reliable, real-world info that’s great for decision-making. Deepai might not be for everyone, but if you’re building or creating with AI, it’s a powerful tool to have in your back pocket.

So here’s my challenge: pick one, try it for a week, and see how it fits. Worst case? You learn something new. Best case? You find a tool that makes work (and life) a little easier.
