With TikTok's fate in the U.S. remaining uncertain, the company is currently undergoing major restructuring, including a wave of layoffs that are expected to affect employees around the world.
According to CNN, the social media app will lay off employees in support, communications, content and marketing.
The new, streamlined organizational structure will see the global user operations team disbanded, according to the report. Some remaining employees will be transferred to other departments.

The affected employees were reportedly informed of the impending layoffs in an internal memo on Tuesday evening from TikTok's chief operating officer Adam Presser and Zenia Mucha, the company's chief brand and communications officer.
The number of employees affected has not yet been disclosed, but The Information reported that a “large percentage” could be laid off.
A TikTok spokesperson confirmed to the Associated Press earlier this year that the company had laid off about 60 employees in its advertising and sales department.
