Elvis Presley's granddaughter Riley Keough is taking legal action against a company that announced a public auction of Presley's famous estate – claiming that the documents the company used to justify the sale were forged.

Keough, now owner of the 13.8-acre Graceland estate, filed a 61-page lawsuit last week against Naussany Investments & Private Lending over the attempted public auction of the historic property where several of her family members are buried.

The filing states that eight months after the death of Keough's mother, Lisa Marie Presley, in January 2023, Naussany produced documents alleging that Lisa Marie had borrowed $3.8 million from them in 2018 and Graceland used as security.

“These documents are forgeries,” Keough asserts in the filing.

Keough pointed out that one of the documents used language that took effect two years after Presley allegedly signed it.

The notary listed on the document also confirmed that she had not notarized the document nor had she ever met Presley, the filing said.

Keough further claims that “according to information and belief,” Naussany is not a real company but “appears to be a fake company.”

Kurt Naussany, named in the filing as the person acting on behalf of the company, told NBC News on Tuesday that he left the company in 2015 and was not allowed to be named in the legal document. According to Keough's filing, someone named Kurt Naussany sent her legal counsel several emails asking her to collect the $3.8 million demanded or risk selling Graceland.

The company has issued several public notices about the foreclosure this month and scheduled the auction for Thursday morning at the Shelby County Courthouse in Memphis.

After Keough filed for a temporary restraining order, a judge in Memphis froze the planned auction. A hearing on the injunction is scheduled for Wednesday.
