Last week I went to lunch with some school friends. Usually one of us treats the other and we take turns paying the bill. However, this time we opted for Dutch cuisine. Times were tough and neither of us felt the need to lose a few hundred pounds all at once. All but one of us, and she's a nurse, something was wrong: Or going on, as we found out later.
It turns out *Jenny was selling photos of her feet online. She has built quite a following under her pseudonym because I was fed up with the huge cost of living at the moment and was curious enough to give it a try. Jenny shared with me her top tips for getting rich with feet pictures.
1. Create a profile on the topic of “Fun with Feet”.
These profiles only take a few minutes. Jenny's big tip was to look at the best sellers and see what sells. Also to establish your brand. If you want to create a niche (e.g. dirty feet videos), then start here.
Profile tips
1. Prepare your feet.
This may sound obvious, but it makes your feet look cute. If you're walking and looking in high heels, make sure they look their best. “I recommend a good pumice stone and a nice touch of nail polish – red always works well, as does a French manicure look,” says Jenny.
2. Look at the competition.
Research, research, research! “I dug deep into the profiles that seemed to be making a lot of money and compared them to those that were average and those that were barely ranking.” Doing this will help you come up with a plan. Either imitate the big earners (although they have often cornered their market) or work on your own unique selling point. “I have a slightly Celtic second toe and found it appealed to a certain clientele.”
What foot type are you?
3. Create an online presence.
As with all social media (or even media), there's no point in being brilliant if people can't see your work. On Insta, low engagement is a nuisance, but on Fun with Feet it's literally the difference between success and failure. Connect with people and learn your subscribers’ likes and dislikes. Always stay on the safe side, but allow yourself to be a little unnerved.
4. Set your price.
This is difficult in the beginning because you don't have the subscribers to justify the top pay. Give people a good deal, get them hooked and then start getting the higher salary packages. Show your subscribers that you are worth their money.
5. Choose secure payment methods.
Do your homework on this and be sure to stick to the recommended payment platforms. If someone offers direct deposit to avoid the commission, REJECT! It could be a stolen card and you could end up paying it back – so always make sure you have payment protection.
6. Take high-quality photos.
This may sound obvious, but so many people try to submit a bad phone picture and then wonder why it doesn't work. Like all social media, it needs to be curated and branded. If your footmark is expensive, the images must look such that the payment is justified. Not just the camera (because let's face it, most phones have fantastic cameras these days), but also the design of the shot and the way it's lit. All of this has to fit your brand.
7. Be anonymous and create safe boundaries.
This one is so important. People will try to meet you, people will ask you for your personal information. You are selling a product and not yourself! Always remember this.
2. List your feet pictures
Jenny recommends “themed collections” – she said she soon discovered what was most popular, but playing on the field initially made her cast her net wide. Their categories were: high heels, high heels with bare feet, foot washing (with soapy water), dirty feet, tired feet and just plain sexy feet. For the latter, she filmed her feet on her partner's back and combined them with other sexy body parts.
She also recommends combining foot fetishes with other fetishes: one of them was the inclusion of Siophelia (food-related) and one of her most successful videos to date showed her walking barefoot through a picnic.
Her top tip was: “Create content that you put some effort into. Just grabbing your fingers in front of the TV and uploading a few of these won't get you the financial results you might have expected. I started with quite a bit of content.” This also seems to be a general trend, with Fun With Feet highlighting the importance of a large and diverse profile.
3. Start earning
Once you have completed your preparations, you can start earning immediately. Fun With Feet explains: “Whenever a buyer unlocks one of your sexy feet pictures or videos, you will immediately receive the money in your Fun With Feet wallet. From there, you can withdraw that money from your wallet directly to your bank account.”
However, Jenny suggested that we should think of using it like a form of social media. It takes support, consistency and quality. She said: “Be prepared to be a little disappointed at first. This is not an overnight sale. However, it is the start of something very lucrative. It took a few months to start seeing good results, but it literally doubled my income.”
She also says, “That's why I'm having a lovely beach vacation this year… I'm looking forward to having some nice sandy feet to treat you all to for lunch next time.”
