Common blogging and marketing mistakes to avoid
Marketing is the core of every company. No matter how much great content, software or services you have, without marketing it's all for nothing.
There's social media marketing, email marketing, video marketing; In summary; There are many marketing streams. There are countless options and ways to market your products, but the main thing is to do it right.
With the right amount of hard work and in the right direction, you can get your job done without much effort. But most new marketers are new. And with so much competition between businesses on the Internet these days, it's simply not possible to make mistakes. You only have one try and you have to get it right on the first try.
Here are some mistakes you should avoid as a marketer to make you and your products more popular than ever.
1. Not focusing on SEO
SEO is an important part of your business. Everyone is trying to get a bigger share of the search engine rankings and land at the top of the #1 page. Google and other search engines can generate an incredible amount of good, organic traffic. Organic traffic helps drive more conversions than inorganic traffic.
Most companies shy away from getting into search engine optimization because it is quite tedious to learn the entire process of ranking in search engines and most SEO firms charge a significant amount for their SEO services.
But good SEO delivers more than enough sufficient results.

2. Not having a blog
Many marketers believe that blogs are of no use to their business. Why do you need a blog? If you want to sell your products, right?
However, if you look at all the top Fortune 500 companies, you will see that every company uses blogs to better communicate with their readers and spread the company's ideologies through blog posts. By having conversations with your readers, you build the trust factor that will help you drive sales and new customers.

Make sure you invest in proper blogging tools and avoid these blogging mistakes.
3. No social networks
If you think that social networking websites are just for passing time and nothing else, then you may need to change your ideologies.
Especially if you are a marketer. Social networking websites like Facebook have huge potential to attract an incredible amount of traffic, increasing the potential for future customers. You can also make your product viral with social media marketing.
4. No local search optimization
Local search is the next big thing in business. And every business strives to rank higher in local search engine results.
Ranking in local search results is one of the most important tasks because only the local people who urgently need your services are searching for your business.
These people have greater potential as customers than people who come in through social media. Learn how to easily get your website indexed in search engines.
5. No guest posts
Guest posting is a great way to expand your presence in the crowded world of the internet. By publishing on top-rated websites like Life Hacker, ProBlogger, and HuffingtonPost, which receive over millions of hits each month. If you can place your content on their homepage, you will be blessed with free website traffic immediately. All you need to do is learn the basics of keyword research.
Another great thing is that most of these websites have a high PR of 5 or more, which gives you some interesting backlinks to your website that will help you rank higher.
6. Don't speak at conferences
Conferences are a great place where most bloggers and business owners come. This proves to be a great platform to promote your business and generate more sales.
Chances are, bloggers will consider your business and start posting about it, get more promotion without spending a single cent, and get more returns and inbound visitors. You shouldn't miss this opportunity to brand your personal self or use tools to stay active on social media. Check out my Social Pilot review
7. Not networking with others
Even if you are afraid of the stage and don't like to say it. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't attend the seminars, webinars and conferences. Remember that many other people come there too. They allow you to build long-term relationships and connections. Marketing is not a one-man show, you have to work with others. Check out our State of Marketing research to learn more.
8. Don't comment on other people's blogs
As already mentioned, networking is a very important aspect. You can build contacts and friends who will help you with problems when you need help. This is a simple and free technique whose potential is not known to many people. Aside from networking, it also helps with link building, which in turn helps you improve your ranking in search engines.
Leaving long and thoughtful comments paves the way for this site's readers to come to your site (check out my Thrive Comments review to learn how you can do more with blog comments).
9. No affiliate marketing
According to affiliate marketing statistics, affiliate marketing is used to generate money.
However, there are companies that are looking for affiliate marketers to promote their products. Many new and small businesses prefer affiliate marketing as a source of advertising.
Bloggers promote your products for a small portion of your profits.
Here is a list of the best affiliate programs you can promote and here is my review of the Grammarly affiliate program.
Editor's note: In addition to freelance writing, affiliate networks like Shareasale are a source of income for me and help me make a living. You can also join the following programs to earn recurring commissions (earn throughout the course by referring the customer just once).
10. Never lower your prices
Almost all companies apply this principle and reduce the prices of their products after a set period of time to attract more users. Offer your products at a discounted price during holidays like Christmas to get more sales. These are some of the common tactics that always prove successful.
For example, Elegant Themes or Divi (see Divi review) are the best-selling WordPress themes. They don't have to lower their prices, but they lower their prices using the Elegant Themes discount coupon. That's marketing.
