So, real talk: Have you ever sat down to finally get things done—writing patient letters, planning content, doing admin stuff—and found yourself staring at a blank screen… wondering where to even begin? (quick way to get dizzy)

Yeah. Me too.

That’s exactly why I started playing around with ChatGPT back in the day. What I didn’t expect? That it would become my go-to “assistant”—helping me write clearer, think a bit faster, and even reclaim a little breathing room between clinic, business, and family.

But here’s the catch…

ChatGPT is only as good as the prompt you give it. Garbage in, garbage out. The good news? With the right prompt, this tool becomes a game-changer.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by the possibilities or unsure where to start, I’ve got you covered. Here’s a cheat sheet filled with plug-and-play prompts specifically designed for physicians and busy professionals who want to do more—with less stress.

Feel free to copy/paste them or gain inspiration with yours, let’s get to it!

Note: While these are general suggestions, it’s important to conduct thorough research and due diligence when selecting AI tools. We do not endorse or promote any specific AI tools mentioned here.

How to Write an Effective Prompt

You know that feeling when you ask someone for help, but you’re super vague—and then you wonder why they didn’t read your mind?

Yeah… AI is kinda like that too.

If you want ChatGPT to really shine, it needs direction. Not just a “do this” kind of vibe, but clear context—like you’re talking to someone smart but totally new to the task. Here’s a simple prompt formula I use all the time:

(Act as) + (Do this task) + (In this format)

Let’s break that down:

  • Act as → Who should ChatGPT pretend to be? A productivity coach? A patient educator? A real estate analyst?
  • Do this task → What do you want it to do? Draft a weekly plan? Summarize a journal article? Create a checklist?
  • In this format → How should it be delivered? Table? Email? Chart? Instagram carousel?

Example:

“Act as a productivity coach. Create a 5-day plan to reduce overwhelm for a physician working 60+ hours/week. Present in a table format. Keep tone friendly and supportive.”

Healthcare & Medical Communication

Let’s be real: explaining complex medical info to patients can be tough.

Not because we don’t know the material, but because translating it into something they understand (and remember) takes serious time and brainpower—especially after a 12-hour shift.

That’s where ChatGPT becomes your secret weapon. Use it to turn jargon-heavy content into clear, compassionate explanations. You’re not outsourcing your clinical judgment (never do that)—you’re enhancing how you communicate it.

Just remember—always review for accuracy. AI is a great helper, but it still needs your final sign-off. Think of it like a medical student: bright and enthusiastic, but not quite ready to fly solo.

Prompt Examples:

  • Act as a compassionate physician. Create an explanation of (condition) for young patients. Show it as a 5th-grade-level summary.
  • Act as a health educator. Create a handout about the benefits of intermittent fasting. Show it as a patient-friendly flyer.
  • Act as a clinic coordinator. Create a follow-up message for a no-show patient. Show it as a friendly email.
  • Act as a medical writer. Create a simplified summary of a journal article on (topic). Show it as a layperson explanation at a 7th-grade reading level using analogies. Pro Tip: Paste the abstract or key paragraphs and ask ChatGPT to rewrite it at a 7th-grade reading level using analogies to make it stick.
  • Act as a patient care advocate. Create a script explaining medication side effects for (medication). Show it as a 2-minute conversation script.

Quick Disclaimer: ChatGPT is a powerful tool, but it’s not a licensed medical professional. Always use your clinical judgment and verify AI-generated content before sharing it with patients. It’s here to support your communication—not replace your expertise.

Entrepreneurship & Content Creation

Feeling stuck on what to post? Wondering what your next blog or video should be about? Welcome to the club.

That’s when I fire up ChatGPT like it’s my creative co-founder. When used right, AI can be an incredible brainstorming partner.

But here’s the deal—your voice still matters. Your stories, your tone, your lived experience—that’s what connects with people. AI can give you the raw material, but the soul of the message? That’s on you. Context is everything. The more you give, the more gold you get back.

Prompt Examples:

  • Act as a content strategist for physician entrepreneurs. Create 5 article ideas about (topic). Show it as a topic list.
  • Act as a social media coach. Create an Instagram carousel script on wellness and productivity. Show it as slide-by-slide captions.
  • Act as a productivity blogger. Create 10 blog post title ideas on time management for high-performing professionals. Show it as a headline list.
  • Act as a YouTube scriptwriter. Create an intro video about my side hustle journey as a doctor. Show it as a full YouTube script.
  • Act as a launch strategist. Create a teaser post for an upcoming wellness course. Show it as a short Instagram caption with emojis and a call to action.

Real Estate & Investing

You know how financial and real estate conversations can feel like speaking another language? (Cap rate, syndication waterfall, depreciation schedules… oh my.)

ChatGPT can be your translator. Whether you’re diving into deal analysis, trying to understand a new investment structure, or need help explaining cost segregation to a colleague—AI is great at simplifying the complex.

Just remember—it’s not your CPA or lawyer. Don’t rely on it for legal or financial advice. The strategy is still on you—but this gives you a serious edge in communicating that strategy clearly and quickly.

Prompt Examples:

  • Act as a real estate analyst. Create a summary of this deal memo. Show it as a
  • Act as a real estate advisor. Create a checklist for evaluating a short-term rental in (city). Show it as a bullet-point list with key criteria like walkability and local laws. Pro Tip: Add criteria like walkability, local regulations, and expected seasonal trends for a more tailored result.
  • Act as a tax educator. Create an explanation of cost segregation for high-income physicians. Show it as a simple analogy-based summary.
  • Act as a real estate storyteller. Create a post about my passive investing journey. Show it as a LinkedIn post.
  • Act as an investment educator. Create a breakdown of active vs passive real estate investing. Show it as a side-by-side comparison chart.

Quick Disclaimer: ChatGPT is not a financial advisor, CPA, or attorney—nor should it replace one. Always consult with licensed professionals before making investment decisions or acting on financial advice. Think of AI as your brainstorming buddy or assistant—not your fiduciary. Use it to simplify, summarize, and organize your thoughts… but you still make the final call.

Personal Productivity & Life Management

Ever stare at your calendar and think, “How the heck am I supposed to fit all this in?”

Yeah… same here. Between work, family, and the never-ending to-do list, it’s easy to feel like there’s just not enough time in the day.

But ChatGPT can help with that—not as a magical fix, but as your unofficial life coach. It’s like having someone who helps you think more clearly, organize your schedule, and cut through the mental clutter.

You can use it to map out your week with time-blocked schedules, figure out meal preps that actually work with your diet and routine, or even design a morning ritual that gets your brain firing without feeling forced.

The more context you give, the more personalized and helpful the result. It’s not about being robotic—it’s about reclaiming your energy and decision-making power, so you can focus on the stuff that really matters.

Prompt Examples:

  • Act as a productivity coach. Create a weekly schedule for a physician with 3 clinic days, 2 admin days, and family time on weekends. Show it as a time-blocking calendar.
  • Act as a nutrition planner. Create 5 meal prep plans under 30 minutes that work for intermittent fasting. Show it as a weekly menu guide. Pro Tip: Add preferences like a Mediterranean diet or low-carb to get personalized suggestions that align with your health goals.
  • Act as a wellness expert. Create a morning routine to boost focus and energy. Show it as a step-by-step checklist.
  • Act as a mental health coach. Create a list of tips for high-performing professionals. Show it as 10 mental health strategies.
  • Act as a mindset coach. Create affirmations to reduce stress and boost motivation for busy physicians. Show it as a daily affirmation card set.

AI for Admin Tasks (Delegate to ChatGPT)

Let’s be honest—admin work is a silent productivity killer. It sneaks into your day, piles up, and before you know it, you’re buried in email replies, SOPs, and scheduling chaos.

But here’s the good news: you don’t have to do it all yourself. ChatGPT is like a digital executive assistant who’s always on call, never gets tired, and doesn’t need coffee breaks. It can help you knock out those repetitive tasks that drain your brain—things like drafting SOPs, writing professional emails, planning content calendars, or even scripting your next webinar. It’s like having a whole operations team in your back pocket.

That said, you still need to be the final reviewer. Especially when it comes to anything legal, sensitive, or public-facing—always read things over before hitting “send” or “publish.” AI is fast, but you bring the nuance.

The magic? You’re not just getting help—you’re building systems. Systems that don’t rely on you manually doing everything… every time. And that’s how you start buying back your time.

Prompt Examples:

  • Act as a calendar assistant. Create a monthly content planning schedule for a physician blog. Show it as a week-by-week content calendar.
  • Act as an operations assistant. Create a simplified version of this SOP. Show it as bullet points with subheaders.
  • Act as a professional communicator. Create a response to a declined collaboration. Show it as a polite email.
  • Act as a public speaker. Create a keynote speech on physician work-life balance. Show it as a conference script.
  • Act as an HR manager. Create an onboarding checklist for new hires at my private practice. Show it as a step-by-step guide.

Quick Disclaimer (Again): ChatGPT isn’t a lawyer, and it shouldn’t take the place of one. Before making any legal decisions or acting on legal advice, always consult with a licensed professional.

Why Good ChatGPT Prompts Are a Must in 2025

One of the best analogies I’ve gotten that answers this question is that, think of it as you’re sitting on a Ferrari… but you’re only using it to pick up groceries around the block. Nothing wrong with it (your life, your rules). But maybe it’s a bit of an overkill?

That’s what it’s like using AI tools like ChatGPT without really understanding the power of prompts. The secret sauce isn’t the tool—it’s how you use it. In 2025, prompts are the new leverage. Especially now with personalized GPTs. And if you know how to craft the right one? You’re not just saving time… you’re multiplying it.

Think about it like this: the early 2000s were all about learning to Google better than your classmates. The ones who knew how to search the right way always found better answers faster. Now, fast forward to today—and prompting is that new skill.

A single, well-written prompt can:

  • Save you hours on admin work (goodbye inbox chaos)
  • Clarify complex ideas for your patients, your team, or your audience
  • Unlock creative blocks (hello blog post you’ve been avoiding)
  • Help you make smarter, quicker decisions

It’s not about being the smartest person in the room. It’s about knowing how to ask better questions. And when you do? You get better answers, faster. You get your time back. And most importantly—you start designing a life that runs on your terms. So yeah… prompts aren’t just a hack. They’re a power tool. The kind that helps you build the life and career you actually want.

Final Thoughts: Make the Change Today!

Here’s the deal: ChatGPT isn’t a crystal ball. It’s not going to magically fix your schedule, write your newsletter, or plan your week unless you give it clear direction. But once you do? It becomes that overachieving assistant who never sleeps, doesn’t complain, and actually gets smarter the more you work with it. (Pretty cool, right?)

So if you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stretched too thin, or like your to-do list is multiplying like gremlins—this is your chance to offload some of that mental weight.
