The fight for the Stanley Cup is in full swing as the New York Rangers will take on the Carolina Hurricanes in Round 2 of the Eastern Conference playoffs on Sunday night.

But for die-hard Blueshirts fans, it can be difficult to plan a trip to North Carolina to watch the games — Ticketmaster prohibits people who live outside the North Carolina area from purchasing tickets.

When checking out, fans will be greeted with this disclaimer before submitting their payment for the tickets:

“PNC Arena is located in Raleigh, NC. Sales for this event are limited to residents of North Carolina, South Carolina and southern Virginia,” the website states. “The place of residence depends on the billing address of the credit card. Orders from residents outside of North Carolina, South Carolina and Southern Virginia will be canceled and refunds issued without notice.”

Games 3, 4 and possibly 6 are scheduled to take place at PNC Arena.

Of course, Rangers fans took to social media to point out that there are a lot of New York transplants in the North Carolina area and limiting ticket sales probably won't be very effective.

It's funny that the Hurricanes are trying to keep Rangers fans away from PNC even though a lot of us are here

The funny thing is that there are so many Rangers fans in this area that it doesn't matter. The regular season game I attended at PNC Arena was packed with Rangers fans, and I can assure you that no one from New York flew to RDU for a Tuesday night game.

Given that most of Cary is made up of New York transplants, the Rangers will be well represented as they are in every game in PNC

You are scared! Rightly so, I think Rangers fans will continue to invade PNC.

The last time the two teams faced each other in the playoffs was in 2022, when the Rangers emerged victorious after Game 7 of the second round. The same ticket disclaimer also reportedly applied to PNC game tickets at the time.

No dates and times have been announced for the remainder of the series.

The New York Rangers have no restrictions on who can purchase tickets for Game 1 at Madison Square Garden, but admission to the arena is chargeable.

As of Friday afternoon, the cheapest official tickets listed through Ticketmaster were standing room only (no assigned seating) at $343 per person.

Game 1 of the Rangers and Hurricanes in Round 2 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs begins at 4:00 p.m. EST on Sunday at Madison Square Garden.
