The company was founded in 2002 by Chad Troutwine and Markus Moberg, two students who met while studying at the Yale School of Management. Veritas Prep offered both test prep courses and admissions consulting services. The live online courses were popular with students who needed structured support. Admissions counselors came from schools like Harvard, MIT, and Yale and provided insight into their highly selective admissions processes.

In June 2019, Veritas Prep was acquired by Varsity Tutors, an online learning platform. The two companies merged to form Nerdy, an AI-powered learning company. In May 2022, Varsity Tutors completed the integration of Veritas Prep into its platform and reduced its offerings.

GMAT exam preparation boot camp

The GMAT Exam Prep Bootcamp is a comprehensive exam preparation course offered by Varsity Tutors. The course is taught by a live instructor to a group of six to nine students and includes four sessions of five hours each. It is designed to provide students with exam-taking strategies that will help them improve their results.

The course covers the structure of the exam, strategies for specific sections, and how to handle difficult questions. GMAT 5 and 10 week preparation courses

The 10-week course is divided into 10 two-hour sessions, each meeting once per week. The 5 week course is similar, but instead of one session per week, the 5 week course is delivered twice per week. Both courses are taught by live instructors, providing structure and responsibility for students who need it.

Instead of paying per course, students enrolled in Varsity Tutors pay a monthly membership fee. Memberships can be purchased in 6-month or 12-month increments. The 6-month membership costs $299 per month, while the 12-month membership costs $269 per month.

Each membership includes four hours of tutoring and gives students access to unlimited live courses, not just the GMAT.

How does Veritas Prep compare?

Varsity Tutors does not offer an easy way to open an account through its website. Instead, you'll be asked to complete an interactive quiz that will help you find a tutor.
